SMS Messages
Vet-One partners with a variety of third party SMS providers, including:

Setting up an SMS Account
Unless specifically requested, Vet-One installations are generally set up with a Boom SMS account and details are input by the support team during the system's preparation. However, if you want to add an additional or alternative provider then follow the steps below:
- Navigate to the SMS account setup screen via Vet-One's Communications module:
- Click "Create SMS account":
- Add the information required to the Create SMS Account screen, including:
- Site (specific branch all or branches)
- SMS Provider (choose from BoomSMS, ReachSMS, TextMarketer or VetEnvoy)
- Account ID (your SMS account ID)
- Password (your SMS account password)
- Email Notification: If your SMS provider offers a "reply" service (allowing recipients to respond) and then change the drop-down to "Yes" and enter the email address to which replies should be sent
- Click the "Create SMS Account" button to save the details and create the account
- The new account will be displayed on the SMS Accounts screen:
- Repeat as necessary.
Sending SMS Messages
One-off SMS messages can be sent via Vet-One's Communications module:
- Navigate to, and click on, "Send SMS Message":
- A new window will open, including fields for the number (SMS sent this way can only go to single recipients) to be messaged and the message content itself:
Click "Send SMS text" when ready, the message will be sent.
Internal Messages
Internal messages are a convenient way of leaving a note for other members of staff. From the main Vet-One page, go to "Communications", and "Send Internal Message":

Send to | Will send the message to an individual user, selectable from the drop down list. |
Send to Branch/Site | Will send the messages to all of the staff at a particular branch of the practice, selectable from the drop down list. |
Send to Group | Will send the message to an entire group of users, eg Nurses. Please make sure that all intended recipients are in the group - see "Permission Groups" for more information. |
Send to All | To send the message to every member of staff, select "All" from any of the above menus. |
Importance | Will give the message an importance level of "High", "Medium" or "Low" in the "Messages" section of "Communications". |
Deliver on | If you would like the message to arrive on a particular date, set it here. |
Message | Enter the message here. |
PLEASE NOTE: The "Send to" options are not exclusive - if you select more than one, they will not cancel each other out, e.g. selecting an individual user and branch of the practice will not send the message to that user at that branch alone, but that user and every other member of that branch's staff.
When you're done, click "Send message". If you have chosen to delay the message until a later date, it will be stored on the system until that time.
Personal Reminders
If you would like an internal message sent to yourself as a reminder on a particular day, go to "Communications" from the main Vet-One page, and "Remind Myself":
Select an "Importance" level and date for the reminder to appear (both covered in the topic above) and write your message. Click the "Send message" button to ready the reminder.
