In-Patients

Viewing the In-Patient List

There are three filters provided to view the in-patients:

  1. The vet or consultant can be selected so that only those animals for whom the vet is responsible are shown in the in-patients list. "Any vet/consultant" will show all the animals regardless of the supervising vet.
  2. The status of the animal can be selected. For example, all animals awaiting discharge filters the animals according to that status. "Any Status" will show all animals of any status.
  3. The in-patient list for that branch or site.

Creating a new In-Patient

An in-patient can be admitted in one of two ways:

Admitting an In-Patient via the "In-Patients List"

  1. The In-Patients List can be accessed either via the left hand Appointments "quick menu" (where it appears, e.g. Vet-One's Main Menu):

Or from the Main Menu: Appointments > InPatients List:

  2. Once at the Inpatients screen, click on the "Admit New InPatient" button:

  3. Search for the animal you wish to admit, in the same way you would search for an animal in any other instance and when you have found it, click on its name:

At this point both this method and the method below converge.  Please proceed to point number 2 below.

Admitting an In-Patient Directly via the Animal Overview or Animal Clinical History screens

If you are already within an animal's record (as a result of an emergency consult, for example), then the animal can be admitted as an inpatient directly.

  1. From the animal overview "quick bar":

    From the Animal Clinical History:

  2. At the Admit InPatient screen select or input:
    1. Branch (where the animal will be admitted)
    2. Supervising Consultant (only active users listed as vets will appear for selection)
    3. Supervising Nurse (any active user will appear for selection)
    4. Clinical remarks
    5. Other remarks

  3. The animal will now appear in the InPatient List:
