Exporting Client Data
On occasion, it will be necessary to export client data from within Vet-One for use in third party applications or to conduct marketing campaigns with external organisations.
Obtaining a List of Client Email Addresses
In order to conduct mass mailshots, it may be necessary to export a list of client email addresses for importation into third-party mail service providers, such as MailChimp.
In order to export a list of client email addresses, follow the steps below:
Navigate to Advanced Client Search, via the Clients Module:
If you want to target a specific client status (or group of statuses) then select the required status and then repeat for other statuses as necessary. If you simply want to obtain an email address for all clients, leave the status Client Status selection as “All”:
In the ‘Email’ field, type the following string:
*@*This will search for all client records that have an entry in the email address field containing an @ symbol. When you’re ready, click “Search”:
Please be patient while Vet-One compiles the data. The system is now searching all client records and this can take a minute or two, depending on the volume of data being searched.
Once the search is complete, a listing will appear on your screen. This initial listing will not display the email addresses, but the exportable data will. Scroll down to the bottom of the first page and click “Export to File”:
Again, be patient while the export action is executed. Once complete, the exported data will download automatically to your computer in CSV file.
This CSV file can now be imported into service providers such as the aforementioned MailChimp:
